CBD Oil for Menopause

CBD oil has been exploding in popularity for many reasons but it really can help with menopausal symptoms.  I’ve been using it for @ one year now and it drastically improves my sleep and helps control my anxiety.  I only use it when I feel the need but it really has helped me so I wanted to share.

I carried out a lot of research before I chose the product I use today and can confirm that Blessed CBD oil is tested by an independent lab to test for any contaminants, pesticides, solvents or heavy metals and the lab results are made available to the public. This reassured me that I was purchasing from a responsible and ethical family run company.  Their reviews were also great. A little about CBD……

Just so we are on the same page, you can’t get high from CBD as it doesn’t contain THC, the psychoactive property in marijuana. Any CBD oil product that is produced using hemp plants is 100% legal to buy and consume in the UK.

The law, passed in January 2017, says you can buy and use CBD oil derived from hemp when it contains less than 0.2% THC and which is then purified to contain less than 1mg per dose. Blessed CBD products contain less than 1mg THC per dose.

Whilst the oil may seem a little expensive, you don’t need to take as much due to the high potency and concentration. Cheaper products can sometimes be ineffective as you double the dosage to get results!

Some reported side effects of taking CBD oil may include:

  • Dry mouth
  • Drowsiness

It’s important to start at a lower dosage, giving your body time to adjust to it before increasing the amount of CBD you take. Always consult with your doctor if you’re unsure about using CBD and other medications.

How CBD Works In The Body

The health benefits of CBD oil for women’s health are vast. Studies have shown that CBD helps with anxiety, inflammation, nausea, migraines, sleep disorders, PMS, hormonal imbalance, and cramps. Before starting anything new check with your doctor, this is just info to share not medical advice.

When you take CBD it reacts with the cannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2, which are located throughout your brain and body. These receptors are responsible for a wide variety of physiological processes, such as the perception of pain, mood, and inflammation. CBD stimulates the endocrine glands. The endocrine system consists of a series of glands located throughout the body and these glands produce hormones, which are released into the bloodstream and basically regulate everything in our body from mood, metabolism, energy, cravings etc, so the CBD supports our hormones.

CBD Helps Regulate Cortisol

  • That “bossy” hormone needs lots of support, especially if you are under stress often. CBD can help regulate the secretion of cortisol, which is one of the main reasons I use it. When I’ve had a particularly stressful day, I take it to help me get a good night’s sleep. CBD can help regulate cortisol in the body which helps us feel calmer, improves our mood and can even support our metabolism.

CBD Can Help Prevent Hormonal Imbalances

  • Our hormones regulate everything, yes everything that occurs in our body. Studies have shown that researchers found that “cannabinoid exposure could have profound effects on the function of the reproductive system, lactation, metabolism, and on the endocrine stress axis.” which means it can help prevent hormonal imbalances by supporting our hormones.

CBD Can Help Support Digestion

  • Another study shows how CBD can actually help regulate our digestion which is key with balancing hormones. The better we absorb nutrients from our food, the healthier we will feel. CBD can also help alleviate bloating, cramps, inflammation and nausea which is a huge plus when we are trying to improve our digestion.

CBD Can Help Support Sleep

  • So many of us struggle to get a solid, restful night’s sleep, especially during menopause. I started taking CBD oil just before bed as it helps regulate the cortisol in my body. I sometimes feel up waking a bit groggy but probably because I’ve had a good solid 7 hours sleep. Something I hadn’t had in a long time!
